Cristiana Grandolfo lives and works in one of the 99 "contradas" of Monopoli (BA).

She began his artistic career with excellent premises thanks to the State Art High School "Giuseppe De Nittis" of Bari where the future artist achieves the diploma in painting Subsequently she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari, where she successfully completed her studies achieving another well-deserved diploma. Finally, her artistic journey continues with the Istituto Professionale per l’Industria e l’Artigianato (IPSIA)  which allows her to gain the title of fashion designer.

She decides to devote herself to teaching design and history of art, including the disciplines of fine arts, history of costume and fashion. Today she is a professor of drawing and history of art at the Institute of Secondary Education hub  "Galileo Galilei" in Monopoli.

In the eighties of the twentieth century, she deepened specific aspects of graphic communication such as editorial illustration and advertising graphics while in the following decade she came out and faced painting, a complex but also very enchanting area of interest. It will be in this field the most critical test for her artistic skills that will have to deal with the many aspects and problems, many of which are not yet resolved by the art itself, of form and colour.

Her career as a painter began in the early 2000s after a decade of running in which she began to promote her art with exhibitions in galleries and institutional sites of great prestige. It follows an evolution, not only in the style of the painter, but also in the management of her human relations until 2017 when she met Prof. Giulia Sillato, an art historian of the Longhian school, who invites her to become part of MetaFormismo ©.

Author of this new historical artistic vision consisting of a key to understanding the senses of non-figurative expressions, simply reading the forms where apparently there are none, she believes that the art of Cristiana Grandolfo is, for contemporary painting, a true and just explosive case to keep an eye on, seeing in her works myriad of seductive forms and above all a treatment of matter, which skillfully blends colour and mixes materials between them.

These characteristics give body and life to the theory that MetaFormismo © is the final historical act of non-figuration.
